Owen Goddard practices criminal law, working on both trials and appeals. Owen has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario. Owen also appears before the Ontario Review Board and other administrative tribunals.
Owen earned his J.D. and Masters degree in Criminology from the University of Toronto. He graduated from the faculty of law with honours in 2012. He also won a number of academic awards, including the prize for the highest grade in both Criminal Procedure and Evidence. While in law school, Owen spent a summer working at the Crown Attorney’s trial office in Toronto. He also volunteered in the criminal division of Downtown Legal Services and worked as a Senior Editor on the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law Review.
After he graduated from law school, Owen articled for Breese Davies and had his first taste of practicing criminal defence. From there, Owen went on to clerk for The Honourable Mr. Justice Moldaver at the Supreme Court of Canada before rejoining the firm in 2014.
